Do you know what can happen in 40 days?
In Genesis 7, 40 days and 40 nights was how long it took for rain to cover the planet, while Noah and his family waited in the ark.
In Exodus 24, Moses spends 40 days on Mount Sinai as God gives him instructions for the Israelites.
In Deuteronomy 8, Moses reminds God's people about their wandering in the desert for 40 years before the Promised Land, and how God provided for them every step of the way.
In 1 Kings 19, Elijah travels 40 days to Mount Horeb to meet God, after being strengthened by an angel.
In Luke 4, Jesus spends 40 days in the desert being tempted by the devil.
In Acts 1, after Jesus has been raised from the dead, he spends 40 days with his disciples, ending with his ascension to heaven.
In the Bible, 40 is a significant number. It represents a formative and important time, usually a time of preparation for something big.
Today marks 40 days until She's Not Your Enemy debuts.
God has been brewing this message on my heart since I was born, to be honest. Struggling with fears of inadequacy, feeling the need to compete and compare and prove, which put up roadblocks in my relationships and left me feeling alone. Can you relate?
Now is the time for this message to get out into the world, to get to every woman who needs it. To the woman who needs the healing of knowing who God says she is, so that she can let go of the fears holding her back. To the woman who feels isolated and alone, when God longs to bring us into community.
Will you join me in saying a prayer for this book today? This is a message we desperately need right now, and I know from personal experience how transformative it has been to live out the practicals and Biblical promises here. I am praying for this book to help bring healing to the women who need it most. I'm also praying that I am equipped and capable of spreading the word.
